This interactive ½ day workshop will give you the opportunity to reflect on what role you can play as a Youth Worker.
About this Event

This interactive network will give you the opportunity to reflect on what role you can play as a Youth Worker and community worker to help #KeepThePromise by 2030.

The aims of this session are:

To raise awareness and understanding of the Promise and update on what is happening locally

To consider our responsibilities under The Promise – what do we need to do to ensure all our children and young people grow up to feel loved, safe and respected in the Scottish Borders

To support Youth Workers to consider how they can contribute to positive changes – both individually and collectively- to #KeepThePromise in the Scottish Borders

To reflect on the links between the UNCRC, GIRFEC and the Promise

To create a space to explore feedback from our care experienced young people about what is working well and what we could do differently

To have an opportunity to ask the Promise team questions relating to delivering the Promise within your setting

And this is the link as discussed to the new Children’s Rights Skills and Knowledge Framework: Children's Rights Skills and Knowledge Framework - Children's Parliament

To reach our aims we will be getting involved in group discussions, touching on best practise through our day-to-day work with young people and taken part in some creative games.

This will be a fast paced, networking session with refreshments available.
