About this Event
  • We encourage young people to create their own teams and register directly at cb.city/Mayors24HourChallenge. If you choose to do so, there is no need to register here!

However, if you would prefer to register with Council's Youth Week team - Join our Youth Week team to walk, run, cheer and keep the movement going for 24 hours – raising awareness and funds for a vital cause!

Please note, you do not need to participate for the entire 24 hours.

If you can’t commit to the full 24 hours, you can still get involved! There will be day sessions and night sessions to choose from – making it easy for everyone to participate.

Every dollar raised will fund Charlotte’s Wish Scholarships for youth mental health.

When: 8:30am, Thursday 16-Friday 17 April - 9am, Friday 17 April.

Where: The Crest Athletics Track, Bass Hill

Who: Aged 8+, all skills and abilities.

Laps:

  • Each lap represents a step toward mental health awareness and healing
  • All laps will be recorded with electronic chip timing by The Timing Guys; the chips will be attached to each participant's bib
  • Participants may leave the track at any time during the event for rests or other reasons but must return to the same point on the track and continue in the same direction
  • Participants who decide to retire before the event ends must make their intentions known to the Race Director before finishing

Rotation: participants can run, jog or walk laps at any pace while taking turns to ensure continuous movement throughout the event

Support: alongside physical activity, the event encourages open conversations, sharing stories and providing resources related to mental health

Goal: to collectively accumulate as many laps as we can, symbolising community strength and resilience
