Listen Up! is a field recording and music-making workshop for young people aged 14 to 24, facilitated by audiovisual artist Finley Wegener. The workshop shows participants how sounds in our environment can become music. It involves exploring the outdoors with handheld recorders and headphones to investigate sounds in the air, in the water and in electromagnetic fields. Sounds are then brought into an electronic music-making setup where participants work as a group to remix sounds into music and add some easy-to-play instruments. This is an accessible music experience well-suited to young people interested in technology, sound and experimental music. No previous experience needed.
