JCNA and Cali Commons Present: Youth " MURAL CAMP" .
We are excited to announce the SECOND Youth Summer Art Camp in the Joslyn Neighborhood, hosted by JCNA and Cali Commons and sponsored by the Cathedral & Castel art district. This is another unique summer program that will be lead talented Nebraska artist Sarah Rowe teaching youth about murals.

This art camp will be free will be offered to neighborhood children ages 10 to 18 or fourth grade to 12th. Classes will take place at Cali Commons, a local nonprofit art center located in the heart of the Joslyn Castle neighborhood.
The class enrollment is 12 children for the entire camp.
In the spirit of Sarah and George Joslyn, early patrons of the arts and education in our community, we are proud to offer these free creative opportunities to help fill the gap in accessible arts programming for children.
Class Schedule:
Mondays and Wednesday June 1-17 | 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Featured Teaching Artist: Sarah Rowe
Sarah Rowe is a visual artist based in Omaha whose work opens cross-cultural dialogue through painting, printmaking, textiles, performance, and Native American ceremony used in unconventional ways. Her vibrant imagined landscapes blend contemporary Indigenous experience with an offbeat enchantment, creating bold visual narratives filled with shape-shifting figures and stories both familiar and mysterious. Rowe holds a BA in Studio Art from Webster University, with studies in both St. Louis, Missouri and Vienna, Austria. She is of Lakota and Ponca descent.
This summer, Sarah Rowe will lead youth participants through an immersive mural experience centered on creativity, storytelling, and community engagement. Students will tour parts of Omaha to explore local murals while learning about the history, impact, and cultural significance of public art. Following the tour, youth will collaborate in creating their own mural under Rowe’s guidance.
The completed mural will be showcased during the Summer ArtWalks at Cali Commons, giving participants the opportunity to share their creativity with the community.
