Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Civic Exchange are proud to host - Youth Matters – a showcase event for the new National Youth Policy and what this means for the young people of Nottingham. Organised by the Team leading the Youth Work Degree Apprenticeship and the Masters in Youth Work Leadership and Practice, within the School of Social Sciences.
This event celebrates the launch of the new National Youth Strategy, introduced in December 2025 as the first major youth policy framework in more than twenty years. The strategy sets out an ambitious commitment to improve the lives of over 10.6 million young people, addressing their immediate challenges while expanding opportunities for growth and development.
The showcase will include:
- An overview of the Youth Matters strategy and what this means for local youth organisations
- An introduction to the toolkit for young people influencing the strategy’s implementation
- An update on the new Youth Futures Hub in Nottingham, one of the first of its kind in the country
- A discussion section to explore what these priorities mean specifically for young people in Nottingham
This event has received funding from NTU’s Knowledge Exchange fund. Afternoon refreshments of tea, coffee, pastries and fruit will be provided. Local Youth Organisations can apply for a travel bursary to attend.
