About this Event
DewMore Baltimore, a program of The Black Arts District, brings the annual slam that decided which youth poets will represent Baltimore City in the biggest youth poetry festival in the WORLD, Brave New Voices! In this slam, five judges will be scoring the poets and the top five scoring contestants will be the faces of the team at BNV 2026. The Baltimore City Youth Poetry team provied young people in the Baltimore area with paid performance opportunities, weekly workshops, access to a greater arts scene, and MORE!
The feature for this slam will be 2024 World Slam WINNER and Atlanta based spoken word artist, Chev! It will also be hosted by 2015 DC Youth Poet Laureate and spoken word artist, MalPractice! We will also have local youth dj, DJ Brae! This slam will also take place at the amazing local cafe, Red Emma's Bookstore Coffehouse. Food and drinks available for sale as well as books! Parking will be on the street and metered.
This event is completely FREE the public and for all ages. All we ask is that you bring great vibes, love for the arts, and an open mind to our young people's stories. We will also invite those who choose to donate $25 or more to curated seating!
