Youth Camp: Raku Fire & Form: June 22-26, 9 AM- 3 PM
Experience the magic of clay, glaze, and flame in this dynamic ceramic camp. Students will learn hand-building techniques to create sculptural and functional clay pieces while exploring texture, form, and surface design.
Campers will then experiment with the exciting raku firing process—an ancient technique known for its dramatic crackles, smoky surfaces, and metallic effects. As pieces are removed from the hot kiln and placed in combustible materials, students will witness the powerful transformation of clay through heat and reduction.
Perfect for teens who enjoy hands-on experimentation, this camp combines creativity, craftsmanship, and the thrill of fire. Students will leave with unique ceramic artworks to share at the Friday Mini Art Exhibition.
