About this Event
The Loudoun Community Breakfast
Life can be stressful – you can say that again! We are all dealing with CHANGE, both invited and uninvited. This event gives you an opportunity to meet with old friends and meet new friends. We all have stories to tell and we long for Community. Please join us!
This breakfast is free, informative, and provides a fun yet meaningful setting to get to know others in your Loudoun County community. Networking is a mild part of the morning and not the primary focus. The focus is to connect with the many stories you’ll discover about the men and women who live, work, and play in our Community.
The event begins with coffee and a little networking, then is followed by breakfast. We will provide a few questions that will charge up the table discussion.
Then you will hear from our storyteller: Marilyn Heigl

Marilyn Heigl will share her story at this breakfast. A little about Marilyn...
Marilyn was born into a military family and raised around the world. France and two tours in Hawaii were highlights.
It was not easy growing up with frequent moves. Doing so made it hard to make friends, hard to fit in, hard to constantly recalibrate her place among peers. Moving to Missouri for her high school senior year turned her life upside down, so she rebelled but to no avail.
Mailyn attended college in Missouri where her rebellion "flourished" as she gladly welcomed being a rebel with a cause in the 60’s – Peace, Love, and Freedom – or so she thought.
Marilyn eventually moved to Virginia where she worked at the Applied Physics Lab. She met her husband there and this changed the course of her life.
Some questions you may have – What happened in college? How did her husband change her life? What’s this about cutting a rose? Oh yeah, you haven’t heard about that, yet.
Come and hear from Marilyn. Did she remain a rebel? Did she find her place? Where is she now? You must hear The Rest of The Story!
Marilyn lives in Loudoun County with her husband of 56 years. They have two married children and two grandchildren. Marilyn enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, leading women, decorating, having tea with friends and soon to be friends, and hanging out with her husband Jim in retirement.
Marilyn’s story WILL surprise you. You will think you know – but you don’t.
Please come join us and invite a friend. I have heard her story TWICE and I am still in wonder and amazement!
