About this Event
Already working in manufacturing but don’t hold a formal qualification?
The Sunshine Coast-based Queensland Manufacturing Hub is launching a Manufacturing Skills - Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program to support experienced manufacturing workers to convert their industry skills into a nationally recognised qualification.
Through a facilitated Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, participants will have their existing skills and workplace experience assessed against nationally recognised qualifications without repeating training they already know.
This program may support participants to achieve qualifications such as:
• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
• Certificate IV in Engineering
The program will be delivered in partnership with a nationally recognised and skills assured Registered Training Organisation and includes targeted support from the Sunshine Coast-based Queensland Manufacturing Hub - principal Capability Development Officer to help participants understand the RPL process, prepare evidence of their work experience, and complete any targeted gap training where required.
Who this program is designed for:
• Manufacturing workers—trades assistants, machine operators, welders, fabricators and technicians—currently working in industry without formal qualifications who are looking to formalise their skills and gain a nationally recognised engineering qualification.
• Workers interested in career progression within the manufacturing industry
To help workers and employers understand how the program works and what participation involves, the Sunshine Coast-based Queensland Manufacturing Hub is hosting an introductory online information session on Tuesday 28th April, 2026 between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

EOIs are open to manufacturing workers and employers across the following LGA regions:

Expressions of Interest will be assessed against defined eligibility criteria including relevant industry experience, role alignment to the qualification pathway, employer endorsement, and evidence readiness for RPL assessment.
Please note there is a significant amount of information required for the Expression of Interest form. We appreciate your interest and commitment in this program.
Expressions of Interest are open until 8th June 2026. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their EOI on the 11th June 2026, regardless of successful outcome.
The RPL Program officially commences on Wednesday 17th June 2026, with a face to face event.
The RPL program may attract a $500 gap fee, depending on eligibility for funded training. Any remaining fee's that do not attract funding will be met by the Sunshine Coast-based Queensland Manufacturing Hub.
Places in the program are limited, attending the information session will help you determine if the program is right for you.
