Would you like to increase your confidence, skills and online safety using digital technology?
We are seeking older Australians who would like to participate in a six-week Young Mentors Program to connect high school students with seniors to share essential digital literacy skills.
The program is an Australian government initiative from the eSafety Commissioner, which builds community engagement by facilitating intergenerational learning between seniors and students.
By participating in the program, you will benefit in the following ways:
• Enjoy a greater sense of community through interaction with young people
• Improve your digital literacy, inclusion and confidence
• Experience a better quality of life, health and wellbeing through being connected to family, friends and resources
• Enjoy an expansion of hobbies and interests
• Enjoy easier day-to-day transactions such as paying bills and shopping online
Your booking will include the six sessions held on the below dates:
Week 1 - Wednesday 22 April | 4:00 - 5:00pm
Week 2 – Wednesday 29 April | 4:00 - 5:00pm
Week 3 – Wednesday 6 May | 4:00 - 5:00pm
Week 4 – Wednesday 13 May | 4:00 - 5:00pm
Week 5 – Wednesday 20 May | 4:00 - 5:00pm
Week 6 – Wednesday 27 May | 4:00 - 5:00pm
The students participating in the program are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh awards and will have the opportunity to develop valuable communication, problem-solving and emotional intelligence skills.
