Isla is Running the London Marathon 🏃♀️My Story
Some of you are probably thinking ‘Isla, what have you signed up for now?’ and quite frankly, I am thinking the same…
For those who don’t already know, when I was 3 years old I was diagnosed with stage 4 ‘pleuropulmonary blastoma’. In simpler terms, a rare type of lung cancer. With the help of amazing doctors and nurses, I am here to tell the story 22 years on!
If it wasn’t for the extensive research of Young Lives vs Cancer (formally known as CLIC Sargent), my family and I wouldn’t have got the support to be the family we are today.
Even though 2002 was the year that changed our lives for the worse, it was also the year that as a family we decided to grab every opportunity that comes our way and to always jump in feet first - no hesitation.
I am no runner, or athlete to be quite honest. But I am a survivor. And That is why I am standing here today to say ‘I am proud to be running the 2025 TCS London Marathon with Young Lives vs Cancer to ensure that no child and their family faces cancer alone’.
