About this Event
Yá'át'ééh shik'éí dóó shidiné'é! Ever wonder why Navajo introductions sound like a beautiful family tree? Or why knowing your "four clans" is basically your cultural GPS? 🗺️
Middle-School and High-School youth are invited to attend a 2-part series to discover who you are and where you come from.
What’s in it for you?
- Find Your Identity: Master your formal introduction (Yá'át'ééh...... ShI ei) and represent your family with pride
- Learn WHY: The matrilineal (mom’s side!) system makes Navajo culture so unique
- Connect & Vibe: Meet other Diné youth, share stories, and learn from Young Elder Mentors that keep Navajo traditions alive
Youth participants must attend both sessions held at the Phoenix Indian Center on the following dates:
- Saturday, June 6th 10:00am-12:00pm
- Saturday, June 20th 10:00am-12:00pm
Register today! Limited youth seats available. This is a family learning event; child(ren) must be supervised at all times.
