Hosted by Greenlight bookseller Micah, the YA Book Group is a space for the curious young reader interested in a curated, intentionally diverse and broad selection of books. While literature is of course at the core of this book group, cultivating our very own community and connections are also at the root of YABG, so if this sounds like a good time to you, come join the fun! For December, the group discusses the New York Times bestseller The Snow Child, a magical debut by Eowyn Ivey. In Alaska in 1920, a couple’s lives are changed forever by the arrival of a little girl, wild and secretive, on their snowy doorstep. As Jack and Mabel struggle to understand this child who could have stepped from the pages of a fairy tale, they come to love her as their own daughter. But in this beautiful, violent place, things are rarely as they appear, and what they eventually learn about the little girl will transform all of them.
