Celebrate with the Society for its 100th Annual Meeting featuring a century of wedding dresses of people you know through stories & photos.The Summit County Historical Society of Akron, OH, invites its members and the public to join them in celebrating their 100th anniversary at an annual meeting held at the historic Akron Woman's City Club.
The evening begins with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. followed by a short business meeting at 6:00 p.m. before a buffet meal. "You Are Cordially Invited: A Century of Wedding Dresses" will be presented as a PowerPoint presentation. It features the new exhibition at the Perkins Stone Mansion curated by Denise Remark Lundell. Each room in the home of Akron's founding family highlights a different decade. They are filled with vintage dresses of people you know (or knew), accessories, wedding gifts and photographs.
Dessert will be served at the table as a sweet treat to enjoy during the entertaining and luxurious presentation filled with wedding announcements and tantalizing stories about the couples and their families.
