FAQ’S
1.What fitness level do I need to be to take on this challenge?
If you’re worried about your fitness level don’t create barriers – our aim is to get EVERYONE through this challenge. We will have different groups you can choose to join on the day, so we encourage all levels of fitness to join and for you to not let anything stop you from signing up. It's called a challenge for a reason hehe. Your training plan is there to get your PEAKS ready and make sure you turn up on the day feeling as prepped as possible
2. "I really want to come but I'm nervous to come alone, should I still book?"
The PEAKIN' team prides itself on being a community that is there to introduce you to like minded legends who will soon become your future best mates. 85% of attendees on our trips come alone so please do not let coming solo put you off booking this challenge of a lifetime. As soon as you sign up you are part of our community and will be welcomed into the family with open arms.
3. What time will the challenge start and end?
We will meet at the start point in Horton in Ribblesdale at 5:45am where we will get those vibes going before we all set off as a team. We will head off by 6am. We aim to finish early in the evening. Please note the starting point is the end point.
4. Will I need to bring my own food and drink for the challenge day?
You will need to bring your own lunch, snacks and water. All of this prep info will be covered in our pre-challenge Zoom workshop on Monday 12th February 2024 @ 7pm. (SAVE THE DATE)
5. Where do we all stay?
We recommend for you to stay in the area of Giggleswick. There are plenty of beautiful airbnbs, campsites, glamping sites and hotels in the area. They range in prices from £10 per night to £200 per night depending on which option you choose. We also recommend buddying up with a fellow PEAKIN' pal and sharing accomodation to save costs. Once you sign up we will send out a list of recommendations and will help connect you with others on the trip incase you want to share.
Recommended areas to stay:
- Giggleswick (this is the area we recommend you stay as this is where the celebration dinner and post challenge brunch will be. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the start point so you would need a car to get around or you can book a local taxi )
- Horton in Ribblesdale (start & end point of the challenge)
- Settle (Train from London arrives here)
- Chapel le Dale
6. How do I get to Yorkshire?
Train: London - Settle. (1 change at Leeds). Around a 3-4 hour train journey which brings you right out in Settle.
Car: We recommend reaching out to your fellow PEAKERS and organising a car share. Split the cost, buy some snacks and enjoy each other’s company on the drive up.
Walk: Save your legs hunny, organise public transport lol.
7. How will I communicate with other participants?
Closer to the training plan starting you will be sent an email which will invite you to join the challenge whatsapp group. This is where you can get to know your teammates better, share how your training is going, coordinate on plans and start to get hyped about challenge day.
8. I've done the challenge before, can I do it again?
YES!! We would encourage anyone who's done this challenge before to sign up and use this as a way to improve on their time and push their training even further. For this challenge we have coaches leading and pacing a group, each will aim to complete the peaks in a specific time so prior to the training programme starting you can decide which group you want to aim for and closer to the time Head Coach Sammy will help you choose which one you will go in so you can get the most out of the experience.
9. What happens after the challenge?
You have the option of sticking around for our celebration dinner which will be held in Giggleswick, Yorkshire at 7.30pm on Sat 16th March. Here we will enjoy a 3 course celebration dinner and an awards night hosted by team PEAKIN'! Simply choose this bolt on option for an additional fee at checkout. We will send out your set menu options nearer the time! (Sticky toffee pudding say whatttttt).
