A training especially designed for yoga and movement educators who want to better understand the biomechanics, function, and benefits of pelvic floor health. Relationships to breathing, core, and hip mobility are included for a wholistic approach to a responsive pelvic floor. NOTE: This in-depth workshop would be great for anyone who is curious about how to improve pelvic floor functioning and overall health--you don't have to be an instructor!
The content is spread out over three days with modules covering the following basic topics:
Friday May 15 5-8pm: Anatomy and Physiology--tension to task, dysfunction, performance, and pleasure
Saturday May 16 12-6pm: Energetics of the Torso--breath, bandhas, and intra-abdominal pressure
Sunday May 17 1-4pm: Hips & Ribs in Asanas, and Cueing for Connection--applying your knowledge to practice
A certificate for 15 hours of pelvic floor specific training will be awarded to participants who complete all components of the training including testing and teaching practicum.

About the facilitator: Sandy Parker has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Education and over 40 years of teaching the foundations of wellness to people of all ages. She specializes in pelvic health from menarche to menopause. Sandy is a certified Yoga Instructor, Restorative Exercise Specialist, Body Ready Method® Pro, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant.
She founded On The Path Yoga in Spring Lake, Michigan in 2011 and has been studying and teaching alignment-based classical Hatha yoga for over 20 years. The studio is fully accessible and has a large array of yoga props including the only rope wall in West Michigan. Her goal in opening this sangha is to offer a full yoga experience including group classes seven days a week, options for beginner to advanced asana practices, along with adaptive Chair Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Restorative Yoga. Sandy also teaches immersion courses on Ayurveda and Tantra Yoga.
