Sleep can be troublesome for a lot of people, and if we dig deeper and look at how calm/ relaxed we mentally are during the day that can be even more problematic.
Life is full of challenges that test us daily, and as a species we have become reactive. We allow things that we can’t control or change to wind us up, we carry years of tension, stress & worry. We worry constantly about what ifs & situations that may never even happen.
Then we lay down to sleep & wonder why we can’t switch off… we wonder why we can’t be present during the day & why our minds are constantly in overdrive.
This can then lead to burn out, exhaustion, anger, anxiety & depression.
During this workshop you’ll be guided on how to relax your nervous system, how to bring your body & mind out of fight or flight & enjoy a deep nourishing rest.
Starting with a few restorative yoga postures to relax & soften the physical body you’ll have the option of a shoulder/ neck massage whilst you fully let go of stress & strain that you maybe carrying.
Aromatherapy spray will be spritz around the room so you can enjoy all the senses being heightened then softened. Bringing your awareness to your senses and away from the busy mind.
Moving away from the physical body as we will begin to work tapping some of the acupressure points on the body. Tapping is believed to subdue the amygdala and reduce the body's natural response to stress. We will work points around the face that also help relieve headaches, eye strain & tension.
As your body is beginning to soften & your mind is now becoming more calm Emma will guide you through breath work & meditation. With the option to sit back to back with a fellow student or the option to sit against the wall. You’ll be guided through the reflex breath to reset the nervous system, a powerful breath that’s fantastic before sleep.
During meditation Emma will play the Gayatri mantra. The Gayatri Mantra is a Sanskrit mantra that has been chanted for thousands of years. It was written down during the Vedic period (1500-500 BCE) and is considered to be one of the oldest known and most powerful mantras. It is said to contain all the knowledge of the universe.
The mantra is an expression of gratitude and praise to the powers of transformation, inner growth, and self realization provided by the radiant light of the divine.
After the powerful meditation you’ll lay down with blankets, bolsters & eye pillows ready for a deep yoga nidra. Emma will talk you through a deep relaxation where you can find the state of consciousness between being awake & being asleep. This is the state of yogic sleep where you can let go of years of stress, worry & tension.
So come & join us for this special event, you deserve some time just for you & you’ll leave feeling refreshed, calm & present.
