Words from Yogi JadeIn this workshop, we’re shifting our focus to the upper body — the sinuses, lungs, and chest — the energetic center of grief, release, and renewal.
Many of us carry unprocessed emotion in our chest and breath — from sadness to stress — and this can literally show up as tight breathing, blocked sinuses, and tension through the face and neck.
Through yin and restorative yoga, we’ll gently open the chest, neck, jaw, and facial meridians, helping energy flow freely again. Expect poses that support drainage, lift stagnation, and invite deep, clear breathing.
We’ll pair movement with breathwork and guided awareness, creating space for you to breathe more fully — physically and emotionally.
This practice isn’t about pushing or forcing — it’s about softening, receiving, and allowing the body to clear and reset naturally.
Words from Acupuncturist Sarah
From an acupuncture perspective, the sinuses are closely connected to the Lung and Large Intestine meridians, which belong to the Metal Element in Chinese Medicine.
This element governs letting go, boundaries, and the breath of life. When Metal energy is imbalanced, we might experience blocked sinuses, shallow breathing, skin irritation, or difficulty releasing sadness or stress.
Through careful, gentle needle placement on points that open the nasal passages, support the immune system, and calm inflammation, we help the body re-establish flow — clearing congestion, deepening the breath, and grounding the spirit.
When we support the lungs and sinuses, we’re also supporting emotional release, allowing clarity and calm to return.
