Transforming Wounds into Wisdom
You are invited to Y4H 2.0, Transforming Wounds into Wisdom. This is a NEW bi-weekly class which is grounded in the Yoga 4 Healing course which has been delivered 6 times in the past four years. Y4H 2.0, Transforming Wounds into Wisdom offers the bi-weekly practitioners the opportunity to consistently tend the wounds they have experienced throughout their life. Whether that be from childhood or adulthood, ongoing or historical. If you have unresolved experiences, (haven’t we all), that have shaped your nervous system responses, beliefs, behaviours and attitudes then this bi-weekly class is for you.
Why a bi-weekly class? Y4H 1.0, taught many somatic self-regulation strategies within a yogic framework however, its nature was to help people self-regulate and reduce overwhelm and not go deeper into understanding what had caused the nervous system disregulation. Y4H 2.0 Transforming Wounds into Wisdom will not only help you become more regulated and less overwhelmed but it will uncover the wounds that you are holding within your body which have been causing much suffering and angst. How so, what is different in Y4H 2.0?
I have fully integrated and formulated into BodyHeartMind Somatic Healing new modalities such as Somatic Breathflow and Somatic Neuro Myo-Fascia Nervous System Repatterining. Both include the Dreamtime Protocol which is the jewel of Somatic Psychology and offers a way to access the deep subconscious where all of our unresolved experiences are hidden and yet inform most of our conscious day to day interactions, for better or worse. So what does all this mean in terms of the practice?
Each session you will be guided through slow, precise movements, layering their complexity as we develop our somatic awareness. Each session will include the dreamtime process and dreamtime protocol. This protocol will offer you the opportunity to take your insight from the class into your everyday life, becoming aware of synchronicities, using embodiment practice or contemplation to further uncover the hidden messages of your subconscious and liberate your wounds, transforming them into wisdom. Each class will build your overall capacity to be with difficulty and layered complexity, understand the wounds that have driven your behaviour, attitudes and beliefs, allowing you to make better choices and change old patterns that have shaped your everyday embodiment.
This is deep somatic healing work grounded in Yogic philosophy and values around why and how we suffer and what we can choose to do to reduce it, if not end that suffering completely. Over time you will develop ease and equanimity. You will know the roots of your wounds. You will be able to tend them in ways you had not imagined they could be tended and develop a better relationship with the whole of you, the Spirit’s Body, Heart, Mind. Transforming Wounds into Wisdom is not a sprint but instead its the ultra marathon, embodying the Moto of Y4H, Slow, Patient, Kind and Gentle. Are you ready to transform?

Some Feedback from a participant of the Somatic Breathflow Series which is included in this class.
Why did you choose to attend the SBF?
The advert appealed to me on social media. I have felt " stuck" for some time, and the advert spoke about exploring this impasse. I have been on a long healing journey for the past 20 years but was not getting some of the answers I was seeking. My healing has largely been cognitive in nature, but I wanted to explore trauma in relation to my body and subconscious experience. I was also curious about trying to access my experiences more meaningfully. I am often caught up in overthinking or analysing my thoughts but not necessarily able to connect to the feelings or experiences around these thoughts.
What did you get out of it?
I thoroughly enjoyed the somatic breath flow sessions. I particularly liked the Dreamtime protocol. This is a new way of experiencing myself, and I gained some profound insight. Initially finding it difficult to let go, I was able to experience images and attach meaning to these. I had set intentions as part of the group, and I noticed that some of the answers were presented to me in ways that I wasn't expecting. The sessions made me more open to ideas and messages and showed me an understanding of my day-to-day life.
Did it help to uncover and heal some of your unresolved wounds?
The sessions did allow me to uncover some of my unresolved wounds. This brought some reassurance and helped me understand how wounds are stored in my body and how some of my thinking patterns have been a barrier to me accessing this. The teachings around the body and diagrams really supported this learning. I particularly liked the teaching on Reich armouring bands and techniques to provide self-love and nurture to soften these. This made sense to me and gave me good insight and awareness into my body, supported by breathing techniques to maintain this awareness. This was very interesting and, indeed, helped me to access my subconscious in a more meaningful way. I was also fascinated by images that came up in the dreamtime that I thought were insignificant; however, when I explored this further, I found that these images had significant meaning through their embodiment.
Would you recommend it to others?
I would absolutely recommend somatic breath flow to others, and it is certainly something I will explore further in the future.
How did you find the deilvery?
Delivery was excellent. The Lotus Dragon yoga school is a very welcoming environment and feels completely safe to explore vulnerability and new ways of expressing discomfort and finding healing. David Carter

More feedback from the wonderful Yoga teacher and West Coast Yoga Studio Owner, Julie Palmer.
I've attended 2 of Rowans Yoga4healing courses and also the somatic breath flow series.
As far as healing is concerned, this is certainly the way forward ✨️
Although I've had a lot of experience in body work and therapy, it wasn't until I attended the Yoga4healing series that I truly grasped how undigested trauma sits in our bodies.
Over a period of weeks, with Rowan guidance, I found there to be a gentle unfolding both mentally, physically, and emotionally deep within. Old undigested traumas rising to the surface to be healed.
Rowan taught us "titration," which is a gradual and gentle exposure to difficult or uncomfortable feelings within the physical body. This way, we always feel safe and in control and are able to go at our own pace.
Over the past few years, these tools have become invaluable to me, both personally and in my working environment.
For me, understanding that trauma has a "cycle" has been life changing. I am now able to process both old and new emotions fully.. allowing them to have their time so they can be fully absorbed and digested by the body.
I'd recommend this course to anyone who is interested in self development or just curious about change. Rowan is a highly skilled teacher who practices what he teaches. You will be in safe hands ✋️
This work is life changing 🙌
