A day of gentle, restorative and invigorating wellbeing practises. No prior experience or level of flexibility is necessary! We intend for this day to be a welcoming and safe space where we can move our bodies, calm our minds, share some food and some laughs.
Hannah will guide us in a gentle Hatha yoga practise, which is one of the many yoga disciplines focusing on breathing techniques and traditional physical postures followed by meditation/relaxation.
The aim is not to work up a sweat but to reconnect mind with body through a sequence of movements (asana).
After sharing a homemade lunch and refreshments (there will be cakes!) we will build a cosy nest for our afternoon meditation. Lauren will guide us through a soothing yoga nidra (yogic sleep) in preparation for the otherworldly sounds of the gongs, crystal singing bowls and chimes. These instruments support us on a physical, mental and energetic level to access a deep state of relaxation.
We will end our day together down at Ullswater Lake for an (entirely optional) wild dip. Lauren and Hannah are experienced outdoor swimmers and love to share the benefits of outdoor swimming and how this relates to yoga and our wellbeing. Lauren is a trained and insured STA open water swim coach.
More about your yoga guides...
Hannah "I have practised yoga for many years. At first I craved more flexibility, but when I began to understand yoga more in-depth I found myself drawn to the spiritual as well as the physical side.
Hatha yoga for me is re-establishing and reconnecting your mind with your body and with your spirit.
I am passionate about with working with others, introducing, encouraging and developing their own personal yoga practice.
What I have always wanted is for my students to feel relaxed and comfortable with me and with my yoga teaching environment. I want them to know that they can approach me, that they can ask questions and that they can be completely themselves.
I am an empathetic, compassionate and transparent person by nature and this comes across in my teaching technique. I endeavour to create a safe, relaxing space for you to feel at home in your body"
Lauren "Having practised yoga for 10 years I have experienced first hand its transformative power for holistic wellness.
My passion is in sharing that yoga is for EVERY BODY. If you can breathe you can do yoga. Yoga is so much more than Asana (physical practise/poses) and the practise extends far beyond the yoga mat.
After completing my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training I went on to specialise in Sound Healing as I wanted to offer an accessible alternative for people who have found other meditation or yoga styles challenging.
Coming from a rural background in North Yorkshire, I have a deep connection to nature. I love to weave this into my offerings. I believe that the more we connect with the natural world, the deeper we can meet our own true nature and inner peace.
These healing modalities have supported me through lifes ups and downs, day in, day out. So it's from my heart to yours that I share them with you."
We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing, re-energising and rejuvenating day where you will be guided and supported with love and care.
