You are invited to a one-day convening of professional leaders at Gowbarrow Hall Farm –a pioneering agroecological farm, to explore a vision for regenerative economics through the lens of regenerative agriculture. This is relevant to those operating in the food (or fibre) system, and those investing in or building policy for nature recovery and restoration.
The ‘Roots to Regenerative Economies’ day will give you an experiential taste of what it means to think like nature works in business, finance and government – learning from soil, plant, animal systems and ecosystems, from the UK’s leaders in regenerative agriculture. The event builds on Roots to Regeneration, the regenerative agriculture learning programme that brings together farmers with business and policy professionals through a two-year learning journey and cultural change programme.

We will explore the roots of addressing climate change, biodiversity recovery, and place-based social and economic outcomes through these systems. The event will help participants understand what it will take [of their roles] to support the transition of our food and farming systems to regenerative agriculture, as a healthy foundation and metaphor for a Regenerative Economy. In particular, the day will reveal the significance of soil as the basis of all life and our economy. The objective is to reflect on what it might take for funder, business, investor, and policy communities to shift to a regenerative economic system and embed nature in economic decision making
