About this Event
Join us at The Art Center Highland Park for Poetry Month and the welcoming of Spring. We are honored to have Paige Loczi teach a 1-hour All Levels yoga class to start off the event. Paige is a catalyst for alignment who activates space—and the people who move through it. An artist, connector, teacher, and perpetual student, she bridges design, movement, and energy to create transitional spaces on the mat and in the built environment that support embodied stillness, meaningful change, and a renewed sense of belonging. This class will focus on Spring and the corresponding body meridians by blending a unique Vinyasa and Yin 1-hour class. Bring your own Yoga Mat!
Following the class, renowned poet Janea Harris guides us through a poetry session where guests will create a poem about their yoga experience. Janea D. Harris is an author, poet, motivational speaker and community advocate who is dedicated to using her platform to create works that address social justice to both engage and inspire readers. She enjoys writing for people in various seasons of life and is often inspired by current events. Janea will guide students through poetry writing about their yoga experience with a tie-in to self-care practices. Bring your favorite journal or notebook!
After the event, Marlena from Love That Spice Tea House will be sampling her delicious and unique tea blends with the option of purchasing your favorites!
