Yoga Nidra is a process where the student has the opportunity to deeply relax without falling asleep. Sometimes referred to as ‘yogic sleep’ the individual practicing yoga nidra is guided through a prolonged meditation specifically designed to keep you relaxed and aware. This transformative practice is accessible to all levels of experience and has become highly popular as a form of guided meditation in a reclined position. Students are encouraged to make themselves as comfortable as possible by eliminating any distractions-even the distractions of the body.Yoga nidra offers many benefits: relaxation, stress reduction, muscle release and can reduce anxiety, insomnia or some pain.
In this class we will begin with some gentle movement and breath to get the body and mind prepared for the practice. Then students will make their way into a comfortable position as the instructor guides them into the meditation.
