Rejuvenate your mind and body with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practice designed and proven to encourage parasympathetic (relaxation) function, clear your mind, and reduce tension and anxiety.
Yoga Nidra is also known as "yogic sleep" because this practice seeks to accomplish two goals: achieve deep relaxation while simultaneously meditating without slipping into sleep and remaining fully conscious.
When asleep, we lose track of ourselves; however, in Yoga Nidra, where the consciousness of the world is dim, and relaxation is deep, there remains an inward lucidity and awareness of physical and mental sensations or experiences. This is the deepest possible form of relaxation and may reduce the autonomic symptoms of anxiety, such as headaches, tension, chest tightness, restless sleep, heart palpitations, sweating, numbness, abdominal pain, and other stress-related symptoms.
Class begins lying down before Sotantar Suraj–expert and certified sound healer and meditation instructor– guides you through simple relaxation techniques and deep meditative focus. Class ends with a soothing soundbath experience.
