Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that leads to deep relaxation and has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression as well as aid with better sleep. Beyond these wonderful benefits, taking time to rest deeply allows us to meet and greet and be present with both the challenges and joys of being human with a greater sense of equanimity and peace. The practice is different every time you do it and is appropriate for both brand new beginners and seasoned practitioners. This practice may be done in a chair or on the floor lying down. It is recommended that you bring a mat, 2 blankets and a pillow that is comfortable for your head to be resting on (something you may sleep on at night). You can put all in a rolling suitcase for ease of transport. Each class does stand on its own; however, yoga nidra is cumulative and the more you do it, the more benefit you will feel.
