Stress, trauma, burnout, and chronic overwhelm don’t just affect the mind — they can become stored patterns within the body.
Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery is a gentle, trauma-sensitive yoga and somatic healing workshop in Tempe, AZ designed to help participants reconnect with their bodies through supportive movement, grounding practices, nervous system support, breathwork, guided relaxation, and restorative yoga-inspired practices.
Led by Sara Becker, Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Releaseology, this workshop blends trauma-sensitive yoga principles with somatic movement, body awareness practices, stress-sensitive movement approaches, and nervous system-supportive techniques to help create a greater sense of calm, safety, and connection within the body.
This workshop is designed to feel approachable, supportive, and adaptable for all experience levels. There is no pressure to share personal experiences, perform difficult yoga poses, or “push through” discomfort. Participants are encouraged to move at their own comfort level while exploring gentle practices that support stress recovery, emotional regulation, grounding, and body awareness.
Beneficial for anyone, but especially supportive for those experiencing:
• Chronic stress and burnout
• Anxiety and overwhelm
• Emotional exhaustion
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Chronic “fight or flight”
• Difficulty relaxing or slowing down
• Disconnection from the body

No yoga experience or flexibility is required. Movements are gentle, adaptable, and accessible for different comfort and mobility levels.

What to Expect: Expect to move! Majority of the class can be done in seated and laying down. You are free to move/adjust throughout the class as you feel comfortable.
What to Bring: PLEASE BRING YOGA MATS, BOLSTERS, BLANKETS or MEDITATION PILLOWS. We will be moving, but I can tailor the movement in any position

Please NOTE that cancellations THREE days before the event will NOT be refunded and cannot be applied to future workshops as I am unable to fill the spot within that amount of time and I budget each event with the amount of spots sold, the rate of renting the space and credit card and Eventbrite fees. I understand that things come up, so you can always "transfer" your ticket to someone else, just e-mail me or text me the name of the person you are transferring to. OR your fee can be applied to future workshops (it cannot be applied to collaborations)
