Curious about or new to yin yoga, restorative yoga, and breathwork? Read below for more information:
Breathwork is a powerful practice using active meditation, initiating an active and intentional rhythmic breathing pattern that can be used to help regulate the nervous system, decrease stress, encourage embodiment, and much more. Breathwork has the potential to bring a state of relaxation and elation, it can also support processing of any imbalances and emotions in the body.
Breathwork is an ongoing practice that can help individuals on many levels but approach this practice with the expectation that it may require more sessions and be used in combination with other modalities of healing work.
**Breathwork has the potential to cause a strong emotional release and create strong physical sensations. Individuals may need to seek out additional support from other health care providers, due to intensity of this practice, specifically a very strong emotional response.
About yin yoga: yin yoga is a quiet physical and mental practice that allows us to target the connective tissues in the body while holding poses for 1-5 minutes.
About restorative yoga: restorative yoga is a soothing practice that utilizes the support of props (blankets, bolsters, and blocks) to allow for restful postures with little to no muscular sensation held for several minutes.
