Read on to learn more about Science Loves Art and this event.
Science Loves Art (SLA) is a Wyoming 501c3 nonprofit. Our mission is to bring art of all kinds together with science through discovery and experiences. Science and art have become separated through our life experiences, but our goal is to create experiences that remind us that science and art go hand in hand.
* SLA is supported by grants, donations and selling SLA art kits and products online and locally.
* This festival is supported in part by Wyoming Arts Council, City of Laramie and Albany County.
* Our annual festivals Pollinator Festival (June) and Fermentation Festival (August) are our efforts to bring Laramie and surrounding areas together and support local artists, local musicians, local gardeners and create a healthy and interesting community experience.
* SLA creates art exhibits that bring art and artists together with science and scientists.
What will volunteers experience:
* Artist/nonprofit/community volunteers will either present their own ideas or facilitate a SLA activity or art experience inspired by pollinators, gardens and nature.
* Volunteers will receive coupons for discounts for all SLA and 4th Street Studios Kits and a Pollinator Festival Token for free food/drink during the event.
*A private pre-festival get together with food and drink tastings.
What will attendees experience:
* A cohesive community experience. Volunteers are contributing their time and effort to bring this event to you and are as passionate about art, nature, science, music and community as we are! They do not pay to be involved.
* Community outreach – an opportunity to provide art, food, drink, music, garden experiences to the public and bring awareness to safe gardening, how to grow a harmonious community through healthy gardens and pollinator habits.
* Learn about community businesses, nonprofits, artists, musicians, and each other.
* Enjoy live music and interactive art all day at no charge.
* Food and drinks available. All or partial proceeds go back into SLA’s mission.
