Update: The Symphony Center Presents recital with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m., has been rescheduled to Friday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m. The change was made due to an expected large public gathering and extensive street closures in the area on March 28. The originally announced program remains the same.“How many musicians evoke the larger questions of life, about existence or a greater power, while they’re playing, as Ma?” (San Francisco Classical Voice).
No conductor. No orchestra. Just Yo-Yo Ma and his cello, returning to Symphony Center for an intimate solo recital. Anchored by three of Bach’s iconic cello suites, the program offers a wide-ranging reflection on the emotional depth and expressive power of the instrument. It’s an invitation to experience one of the world’s most revered artists in a setting that’s both personal and profound
