Join Victoria every Wednesday evening for 1.5 hours of yin yoga and mindfulness meditation. Class fee is $35 (payable on arrival via cash or Square).Yin yoga is a slow floor based meditative yoga style that focuses on holding poses for longer periods of time. We will use props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and cushions to support the body in the pose.
Dress in comfortable clothing that you can easily move and breathe in. The class is suitable for beginners or advanced students. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in.
About Yin Yoga
Yin yoga poses are held for 3–10 minutes and each pose provides a container for an experience of mindfulness meditation.
Yin yoga is based on the Chinese medicine principle of yin and yang, which refers to the complementary nature of opposite elements. Yin is cool, slow, and passive, while yang is warm, fast, and active. In our busy lives we can have too much yang through our diet, use of technology and fast paced busy lives.
Yin yoga targets the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and bones. By holding the poses we work deeply into the fascia.
