Explore Trauma Informed Yin Yoga in this 4-week series designed to balance your nervous system and strengthen your body-mind connection. What to expect:
- Sessions may begin with a short mindful yang sequence before transitioning into yin shapes held for 3-4 minutes
- No hands-on adjustments - the facilitator remains on their mat, practicing alongside you
- Develop interoception - your ability to notice your internal world, including physical sensations, emotions, and energy states
- Explore shapes that target areas where stress and tension tend to accumulate
- Learn to work with your energy body and strengthen the mind-body connection
- Psychoeducation will be integrated to deepen your understanding of the nervous system
This series emphasises autonomy and agency. You decide how much or how little to engage in each shape, honouring your body's innate wisdom. Invitational language is used to create a safe environment for your personal exploration.
A balanced nervous system supports the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (ventral vagal state), which is the state needed for rest, digestion, healing, and maintenance.
