A beautiful combination of Yin (approx 60 mins) & Nidra (approx 30 mins). This is a deeply healing practice designed to help you 'fill your cup' as you allow yourself to rest & restore; embodying the feminine, lunar energy and offering the opportunity to switch off from the demands and fast-paced nature of the outside world.What is Yin?
Based on elements of traditional Chinese medicine; Yin aims to rebalance the flow of energy (qi) within the body. Floor based postures are held for longer (typically 2-5 mins) and instead of working the muscle fibres we are targeting the deeper connective tissue (fascia). If you want to improve your flexibility - Yin is the way to go! As we find stillness in the body, we can start to find space within the mind.
What is Nidra?
Like a guided meditation; Nidra involves lying down (yay) and being led on a journey into relaxation, transporting you into a state of conscious awareness (the sweet spot between sleep and wakefulness). This is a brilliant practice for stress reduction and to improve sleep - it's even thought that 30 mins is the equivalent of 4 hours sleep in terms of benefits it provides the body!
The perfect way to spend a self-care Sunday and reset for the week ahead.
Please wear comfortable clothing (ideally with layers - this is a practice of stillness so you may get chilly). Yoga mats, blocks will be available to borrow, but please bring your own if you have them. You will also benefit from bringing a bolster / cushions and pillows as props and a blanket for the nidra - the cosier the better!
