We have FOUR - and four only - Open Days coming up during February: Saturday 14th,
Tuesday 17th,
Thursday 19th,
Saturday 21st.
What are the opening times?
10am - 2pm
What is the cost? It is FREE!
We can only do this because it is a one-off special set of Open Days to say thank you to everyone for their support, and because we are entirely run by volunteers. Other, chargeable, activities may be taking place at the same time but entry to the main museum will be completely free of charge.
Is the Museum child friendly?
Yes, there are lots of activities aimed at children, and we have chosen these Open Days because they coincide with Half Term for Worcestershire schools. However, people of all ages will find plenty to interest them.
Will there be loom/weaving demonstrations?
Yes (subject to volunteers being available). Handloom demonstrations will take place throughout the day and powerloom demonstrations usually take place around 12 noon.
Are the powerlooms noisy?
Yes, they are, and this is why we generally only run them once and for two minutes at a time. We have to comply with noise regulations, and Health and Safety standards. There are ear protectors available, should you wish.
Is it just about carpets? Absolutely not! Come and see.
Where is the Museum and can I park my car?
The Museum is on Green Street, Kidderminster, DY10 1AZ, and is part of the Morrisons supermarket site. There is no specific museum parking, but there are car parks all around the site: for example, Morrisons, Aldi, Dunelm. Please check carefully the parking restrictions on each of these car parks, as they are all different, and operate independently of the Museum.
