Julius Bobke Publishes His First Catalogue Accompanied by a Solo Show at Berlin’s roam projects
As part of Berlin Art Week 2025, roam projects e. V. / Helene Bosecker, Berlin, in cooperation with Galerie Nina Mielcarczyk, Leipzig and Kunsthalle Ost, Leipzig, presents a solo exhibition by Julius Bobke. The occasion is the release of his first monograph Yet Untitled, accompanied by a special artist edition.

Immediately following, on September 19, 2025, Bobke’s solo show will open at Kunsthalle Ost, Leipzig.
Julius Bobke (*1992) combines oil painting with digital printing techniques and sculptural elements in his artistic practice. Embedded in a narrative between classical antiquity and Berlin’s gritty Hasenheide, Bobke’s works spotlight a searching generation—caught between the fleeting nature of digital image overload, the raw honesty of cigarettes in the snow, and the literal, combative struggle for legitimacy in a society shaped by toxic superficialities. Humor serves as a grounding tool in these existential themes—overtly and reassuringly weaving the raw and the real into an aesthetic experience. History meets the contemporary, tragedy meets comedy, the universal meets the personal.
Drawing on art historical references, personal memories, and observations, Bobke creates complex visual worlds: digitally manipulated, overprinted, overpainted, and kneaded. True to his working method, the publication interweaves image notes, post-sparring selfies, materials, and exhibition views. Bobke’s deliberate blending of forms and his incisive humor ensure that both the artworks and their documentation develop a personal, distinctive visual language.
Julius Bobke lives and works in Berlin. In 2017, he graduated as a master student from the UdK Berlin.
