Yellow Steps Along the Bow: Late-Fall Edition
A Gathering for Calgary Educators
Are you a teacher who cares deeply about kids, land, and community, but sometimes feels like the black sheep in your school? Youāre not alone!
Yellow Steps Along the Bow is a new seasonal gathering for Calgary educators who are walking a different path: teaching in ways that are more human, connected, and grounded in place.
š Fall Edition: Time to Connect
Weāll explore the idea of connection. We will especially consider the ways that students and teachers connect to each other, to themselves, and to land when they are outside.
This second meetup will take place in the backyard of Dr. Freda Miller School, beginning at the Marshall Springs entrance to Fish Creek Park.
Weāll walk together through this outdoor space, guided by a teacher who frequently visits this place with her students. As always, we will take time to pause, reflect, share, and imagine how we can incorporate more connection into our teaching practice.
We'll wrap up our session with some warm drinks and shared snacks.
Start Location: Marshall Springs entrance to Fish Creek Park, parking lot
Format: A guided walk with reflection stops, about 3km total distance
*There is a strech of steep, paved hill at this entrance. We may use unpaved trails within Fish Creek.
What to Bring: Comfortable, all-weather shoes, water bottle, notebook
