About this Event
Jonathan is a native of Champaign, Illinois and a proud alumni of The University of Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Acting. Currently, Jonathan is currently appearing on Broadway in the acclaimed show Hamilton! Jonathan will perform numerous hits including some Hamilton songs along with sharing funny and interesting stories about his Journey to Broadway. As an additional bonus, He is bringing along his wife, Kathleen, another ultra talented singer/artist to perform as well.
Very recently, Jonathan returned home to Champaign to be recognized as Distinguished Alumni of Champaign- Urbana. Jonathan was blessed with the opportunity to share my experience with a new generation of young artists in my hometown.
Jonathan is also a former Acting Resident at The Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Chicago Theatre credits include The Little Mermaid, In The Heights, Tommy (The Paramount Theater), Sister Act, Something Rotten, Kiss Me Kate (The Marriott Theatre) A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Notebook (Chicago Shakespeare Theater" Regional credits include Dreamgirls, The Color Purple (Milwaukee Repertory Theater), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Actors Theatre of Louisville) and The Merchant of Venice (Riverside Shakespeare Festival). He a voice actor on the Animated TV show "Jade Armor" and the Webby Nominated Childrens Podcast "The Plate Show" TV Credits include "Chicago Med" "Chicago Fire" (NBC) Empire (Fox)
His wife, Kathleen is also an established composer and actress. She is the composer and lyricist of Chicago's new hit holiday musical, "Eleanor's Very Merry Christmas Wish." Other work includes a song featured in the musical "Girlhood," with CPA theatricals; her song “None of My Business," which premiered at the Chicago Humanities Festival; and and the viral internet hit “Gimme That Fat Cat,” which appeared in People magazine, Buzzfeed, Vice, and more. She is music director for The Second City, an improvisor, and AEA actress whose favorite theatres include Peninsula Players, TimeLine, and Theatre At The Center. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED. Full bar on site for drinks for purchase. No kitchen. Some snacks for purchase. Due to strict requirements from the health department, we are not serving ice for drinks. However, if you want to bring your own ICE, you are welcome to.
