Join us for the opening night of the festival as we soak in the sunset and vibe to incredible music on the beautiful NAC Wood Terrace.
Access the terrace directly from Elgin Street, the Rideau Canal, or the Mackenzie King Bridge, and experience some of the best free global beats Ottawa has to offer this summer.
🎟️ Admission is FREE, but space on the Wood Terrace is limited to 400 guests and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited and cannot be reserved, so we encourage guests to **arrive early and bring a chair** to fully enjoy the evening, or just come ready to dance.
If capacity is reached, an overflow viewing area with limited sightlines will also be available.
🎶 YEISON LANDERO (Colombia)
Directly from the Montes de María on Colombia’s Caribbean Coast — the birthplace of Cumbia — Yeison Landero is one of the genre’s most celebrated performers and ambassadors worldwide.
Grandson of the legendary Andrés Landero, “The King of Cumbia,” Yeison inherited not only the family name, but the soul, rhythm, and accordion mastery of one of Colombia’s greatest musical legacies. Since the age of seven, he has dedicated his career to preserving, innovating, and bringing Cumbia to new audiences around the world.

🎤 Opening Performance: LADY LA PROFETA (Colombia)
Born in Cali, Colombia, Lady La Profeta is the 2023 World Poetry Slam Champion, internationally recognized for her powerful work in poetry, music, and film.
Her artistry creates spaces for healing and transformation, uplifting Latino and immigrant voices, breaking cycles, and building connection across communities through storytelling and performance.
