The Invisible Orange presents: YEAR OF THE COBRA

Formed in 2015, YEAR OF THE COBRA became a rapidly ascending, radiant star in the horizon of the doom/stoner-scene for a reason. The powerhouse duo, consisting of Amy Tung Barrysmith (vocals/ bass) and Jon Barrysmith (drums), use their limitation in instrumentation to their advantage. Leaving space for every instrument to breathe and to shine, they create a vast, larger than life sound aesthetic. Their songs drift relentlessly from classic epic doom laments into oppressive heavy riff architecture, with traces of hardcore punk and transfiguring psychedelia.

MEDIASLAVES
Punk rock band from Vancouver. Recently participated in our annual Wacken Metal Battle. Their blend of fast, in-your-face punk songwriting sensibilities and thick, heavy musical tonality creates an explosive blend of aggression, melody and catchiness.
Many of their songs serve as a piercing critique of modern issues like corporate greed and political corruption while also touching on strange social behaviors and relatable personal turmoils. Mediaslaves' anarchistic lyricism doesn't shy away from shouting the pressing concerns of our times.
