KICKOFF 2024 next Tuesday, January 30th from 6-9pm: first, meet me for a drinks party and networking at Cabin Winmore Unit G., behind Ladybird, between 6-7pm. At 7pm sharp, we will have a studio visit featuring fine-art, hip-hop, and editorial photographer Diwang Valdez. There, we will check out his clubhouse, view his photography, and hear about his art practice. We will also hear from two additional artists: “detachable clothing” artist and creator of Social Clothing, Cooper Barrett, and textile designer, creator of Craene, and YCC Steering Committee member Caroline Hust. Icing on the cake: we’ll stroll over to Social Clothing for a brief shopping spree. Then at 8:30pm, continue to Atlanta Worldwide beside the Beltline for the Skate or Die exhibition, a collection of artwork from eight skaters past & present, including Mike Lottie, Bo Orr, and Jef Whitehead. If you have the bandwidth, follow us afterwards to Ranger Station with artist Michael Lennox for a final nightcap.
