Yatra: A Journey Through India showcases the regional diversity and cultural legacy of India through three classical dance forms.
About this Event

Embark on a mesmerizing voyage through India’s cultural tapestry with Yatra: A Journey Through India, a performance that celebrates the nation’s diversity and timeless beauty. This show highlights the music and poetry of classical-era composers - drawn from a spectrum of regional languages and seamlessly integrated with the Indian classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi.
From the ancient reverence of Sanskrit and Tamil, the poetic expression of Hindi-Urdu and Marathi, and the lyrical cadence of Telugu and Manipravalam,Yatra paints a vivid picture of India's artistic depth. Each composition reflects the unique spirit of its region, woven together in a tribute to the shared spiritual and cultural heritage of the Indian subcontinent.
Please join the Triveni Ensemble for Yatra on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm for a celebration of India's cultural legacy that transcends time and geography.

All proceeds will benefit the American India Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of the underprivileged, with a special focus on women, children, and youth.

Triveni School of Dance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and performance of Indian classical dance, social awareness, and the celebration of cultural diversity, founded in 1971 by Neena Gulati - an award-winning and acclaimed dancer from New Delhi, India. The school, based in Brookline, MA, trains dancers every week in three forms of Indian classical dance: Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. In addition, the Triveni Ensemble gives many performances annually - including benefits for other charities - at multicultural events, schools, community centers, and universities where lectures are combined with demonstrations and workshops.
