About this Event
The XXIII Symposium of Mexican Students and Studies in the United Kingdom is an annual event convened by the Society of Mexican Students in the United Kingdom (MexSocUK) and organised in collaboration with a Mexican society at a UK university. This year, the Oxford Mexican Society is proud to host the symposium, which will take place on 8–9 May 2026 at venues across the University of Oxford.
The main theme of the symposium, "Mexico in the World," invites an exploration of Mexico’s global presence, influence, and contributions across various fields. It aims to highlight Mexico’s role in shaping international affairs, culture, and progress in both historical and contemporary contexts. Additionally, it welcomes an exploration of the work that UK-based scholars and the international academic community have conducted on Mexican affairs. This theme invites a broad spectrum of discussions and offers ample opportunities to examine Mexico's influence from a variety of perspectives.
This event is promoted by the MexSocUk and organised by the Oxford Mexican Society. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our hosts and partners in the University of Oxford, the Mexican Embassy in the UK, Chirst Church College, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, the Fundación Espinosa Rugarcía, MexGrocer UK, Oxford Student Union, UNAM-UK, the Mexican Chamber of Commerce, Sweet Nibble and Cuervo Tradicional.
