Agleyum Cliyopatrayum intertwines the mythic lives of Cleopatra, the iconic Egyptian queen
from Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, and Egle, a tragic heroine from Lithuanian folklore.
Through the lens of love, power, transformation, and betrayal, the production creates a
poignant, ritualistic theatre experience that transcends boundaries of culture and time.
Informed by Kerala’s Sarpakalam tradition, physical theatre, ritual performance, live
painting, and multilingual storytelling, this solo work is a meditation on feminine agency and metamorphosis.
