With more details to follow, I am now starting to formally get together a list of cars and participants for XJ40 at 40: Coventry. This is the first part of a two-part celebration, the other being in Germany in September 2026 – which you will find further down this events page and at the following Facebook link.https://fb.me/e/8WFNjDq8C
So, to kick things off, please let me know if you are coming along and wish to be kept informed and I can start to get numbers, cars and plans factored in for volume, services and event layout. The plan at the moment is;
Saturday 6th June 2026:
A static display day in the heart of the city, focused in an around the historic remains of the Coventry Cathedral. The XJ40’s will be at the centre of the festivities at this superb location
Sunday 7th June 2026:
A driving day to a location we will be soon to announce approximately 60 miles away. We are still working with the owners to secure the location, but it will give us the chance to convoy in our cars, enjoy a nice route and end up at a place owned by a famous motoring enthusiast. We will have a BBQ here and enjoy the final day of the U.K. side of things.
For those staying overnight in the Coventry area, such as myself, we have found that there is a Take That concert now on at the same time, which has made hotel booking a bit harder, and a bit costlier. So, what a group of us have done is to book the Friday and the Saturday night at the following hotel;
Forest of Arden, Maxstoke Lane, Bickenhill, CV7 7HR - find the hotel on booking.com where prices are a bit more competitive than on the hotels main website!
On the evening of the Saturday, there will be a formal dinner at the Guildhall, and spaces for this are limited to a set number, so booking will need to be done quickly once I open up the spaces - which again, I will make sure you all know when this will be.
If you are planning to join this event, please let me know. It sadly won’t be a case of showing up on the day with no warning, as I need to plan for space, numbers and facilities. And please don’t delay on hotel arrangement, as rooms are booking up fast!
