Benefits of xc in-hand:
✳️ an excellent way to build confidence, skill, balance and knowledge whilst allowing you as a rider to see how your horse jumps and what they focus on and if they don’t jump, why.
✳️ when they have a case of the sillies no one has to ride it out (and they are not dealing with a rider trying to stay on)
✳️ teaches the horse how to handle its body before doing things under saddle.
✳️ horses usually love it and figure things out themselves without a rider dictating and getting left behind or in their way.
💡 they experience that they don't have to RUN at a fence.
✳️ They get to work out the footwork, and gain confidence in themselves.
💡 If your horse is unsure about a bank or water, they can gain lots of confidence by watching their human negotiate the scary thing first.
🥳 It's also just plain fun!

About the Coach:
Tina [of Equichanics] is a producer, rider and scholar of the horse. Before leaving Ireland as a young rider she was short listed multiple times for both Irish Showjump and Event teams on home produced ponies and horses.
Following her move to the UK in addition to BS and BE she also competed Endurance and has become a Working Equitation Instructor and Judge.
While in the UK she also achieved her BSc and MSc in Equine Science and Management, and a Post Grad Cert in Education to better support her passion for teaching.
Equichanics combines Tina’s practical experience and her academic qualifications to coach people with their horses at home, run a variety of in-hand & ridden clinics and educational talks/workshops about a wide variety of horse health and training topics.
The cornerstone of Tina’s teaching is facilitating a calm, safe and effective learning environment for both horses and humans which encourages critical thinking about what’s best for both, and how it can be ethically achieved.
