The duo X & Yde have just(19.2) released their EP “Sound of a Bite” via tastemaker label odyxxey. The EP marks the first collaborative release from the two friends otherwise known as musicians Ydegirl & Xenia Xamanek after the artists initially came together to make music in the basement studio on Palestine’s Plads in Copenhagen back in 2019.
“Sound of a Bite” explores freedom, queer liberation and soft eroticism through soaring guitars and freestyles. The titular track features a shredding guitar solo from legendary artists Lola Hammerich (Baby in Vain) and ML Buch that compliments and further challenges the notion of superficial interactions and highlights the tension between fiction and reality. With a vocal performance that stumbles and sways, the artist blurs the line between spoken word and melody - almost as if speaking in tongues - creating a raw, visceral connection that feels both disorienting and intimate.
Other stand out moments include ‘Bend & Curve’ that samples the streets of Tegucigalpa, ornamented with percussion and acoustic drums played by a young musician from the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. The unique orchestral sampling and vocal chops gathered from lyrics written over 400-years ago by Mexican Lesbian nun Juana Inés de la Cruz will only further convince listeners of the artistry and talent of both X & Yde.

Contacto is a musician originally from Valencia (Spain). They have been active in both Valencia’s and Paris’s underground music scenes, first as part of the Dominio collective, where they released their earliest projects, and later through releases on labels such as Aizkora (Barcelona), World Canvas (Helsinki), surf (Lisbon), White Garden (Paris), and Deardogs (Paris), which released their best-known project to date, ASTRAY. The album blended folk, noise & experimental, electronic, and hip-hop influences.
Over the years, they have shared lineups with artists such as Florence Sinclair, Gyeongsu, Forma Norte, and more recently, Lolina. Last year, they released a short three-track EP in collaboration with Berlin-based artist Clarice. While they are now primarily focused on folk and acoustic music, their work continues to embrace a spirit of experimentation. This is their first time playing in Copenhagen, and they will be presenting acoustic versions of unreleased tracks from their upcoming project.
