Lyla Seamans is 9 years old and in 4th grade at Wyoming Area. Over Christmas break Lyla started not feeling well. After a trip to the ER, Lyla was rushed to Danville Children’s hospital for surgery. Lyla’s appendix had burst and caused her to become very sick and in so much pain. After a five night stay from surgery, she was discharged prematurely. After less than 24 hours home, she had a fever and passed out. We rushed her back to Danville and prepared for an even bigger surgery to wash out her abdomen and hopefully clear up the infection. This would be the start of another hospital stay. Six days later she would have another surgery to drain an abscess that formed behind her bladder Lyla has overall spent 15 days in the hospital from 12/30-1/13. From 1/26-1/28, she was admitted back to the hospital for another infection. She is currently home and will be returning to school on 2/10. Lyla has been very strong and working hard towards recovery. Lyla has never spent so much time apart from her parents and 3 siblings. Each day is uncertain and frustrating. All proceeds will go towards medical and travel expenses for the family.
