This march is to call upon the Victorian Minister for Local Government to act on the vote of "No Confidence" of 27th April 2026.
The Wyndham Mayor, Councillor Preet Singh was resoundingly and unanimously called out by 10 councillors of Wyndham City Council. They voted they had "NO CONFIDENCE" in Councillor Singh as Mayor due to his decision making and poor leadership. He was requested to resign by his own colleagues on behalf of the community of Wyndham.
It is unbelievable that 6/11 councillors can vote IN a Mayor, yet 10/11 can't vote OUT a Mayor. Such a strong vote should trigger an automatic action by the Minister where they should require that Councillor to "show cause" as to why their conduct should not result in their removal or why they should remain in their role. Waiting for a report from an appointed Monitor is simply not good enough.
We deserve better than an apologist for a child sex offender as our Mayor! A councillor who changes his story with each new interview. A councillor who refuses to accept his actions are unacceptable and inapproriate. A councillor who has ignored victims while painting himself as one.
Preet needs to go! RESIGN AS MAYOR NOW!
