About this Event
Although it ended over one hundred years ago the First World War still casts a shadow over current political events today as it created new geographic boundaries and resulted in the displacement of entire races. Yet it is probably at a much more personal level that it is still remembered in this country, the grandfather buried “somewhere in France”, the great uncle wounded at Gallipoli and unable to work the farm upon his return.
A short overview of this first great global conflict and an attempt to identify the impact of it on this country.
Attendees are encouraged to bring along items from any conflict for identification or to contribute family stories to the discussion.
