The Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo will be Friday through Sunday, April 17th-19th, in the South Hall of the Von Braun Center in downtown Huntsville. The Expo will also have dozens of other guests from wrestlers to comic book artists. They also have informative panels, merchandise vendors, gaming, costume contests, and much more! The official hours of the Expo are 3PM-8PM on Friday, 10AM-6PM on Saturday , and 11AM-5PM on Sunday.
Tickets are currently $77.82 for the weekend package, with various prices for one day access only. Be aware that the price will likely raise again closer to the Expo and at the door. The USS Wernher von Braun will have a fan/community table in the outside hallway. You do NOT need an Expo ticket to access our fan table in the hallway. Additionally, several of our members will be in attendance and providing volunteer manpower. Our own Sci Fi Collectibles ( https://www.facebook.com/Scificol ) will be in the vendors room selling merchandise. If you're able to man our table for a few hours or even just give us a quick break, we'd be extremely grateful. If nothing else, drop by and say, "Hi!" Laura would also appreciate breaks in the vendors room as well. Please note that the fan tables are now located in the connector hallway between the VBC's South Hall and East Hall.
We would also love to have other STARFLEET chapters join us at our table so it can be an incredible recruiting tool for all of STARFLEET. Please let us know ASAP so adequate space and preparations can be made. We will probably have two 6' tables along with 6 folding metal chairs. We have to provide our own table/chairs, so feel free to bring your own.
The VBC always has multiple events going on at the same time as the Expo. If they allow it, getting into South Hall parking should be doable on Friday and Sunday, but will be problematic on Saturday.
After the Expo closes on Friday and Saturday, we will have a group dinner. Because of the crowds downtown and at the popular locations, we're going to two restaurants located on Jordan Lane, which is about 3 miles west of the VBC South Hall. You can take Holmes Ave or Governors Dr. from the VBC to avoid Memorial Parkway and I-565 traffic. You're welcome to join us for some good food and camaraderie even if you don't attend the Expo itself. Uniforms are NOT required, but some of us may still be in our Expo costumes.
