Wunderbar Live Art Social #1: Patrick Ziza at D6
There are lots of people working in live art in Newcastle and the northeast, though we might usually think of ourselves as visual artists, musicians, choreographers, theatremakers and so on. Wunderbar would like to contribute towards building a community of practice around experimental performance, which starts with us getting to know each other.
This will be the first in a series of social events hosted by artists at venues they work with. This time, we are hosted by Patrick Ziza at D6, where Ziza is an artist in residence. There'll be a bit of something organised, and plenty of time just to meet each other and hang out!

Ziza is an artist whose practice is continuously evolving, shaped by a sustained curiosity about human experience.
Born in Rwanda, and based in Gateshead and London, his work engages with performance, installation, sound, movement, and voice, often combining these mediums to explore ideas that respond to an ever-changing world in relation to hidden/erased narratives.
Ziza's practice shifts in form and focus over time. Though, an ongoing investigation into how beauty is perceived in various cultural contexts remain central to his work. He works experimentally, using research and process-led approaches to uncover new possibilities and to engage with themes that question conventions, belief systems, and binary or cultural norms.
